Husaberg is a Swedish-Austrian motorcycle manufacturer.
In 1987, after the Italian company Cagiva acquired the Husqvarna Motorcycles motorcycle production unit and transferred production to the Italian Varese, a group of engineers led by Thomas Gustavsson decided to stay in Sweden and continue working on their own project. So in January 1988, the company Husaberg Motor AB appeared. Soon, Ruben Helmin (Husqvarna Chief Engineer and Husaberg First Managing Director), Urban Larsson (Husqvarna Designer), Bjorn Alvin (Husqvarna Testing Director) joined the project.
The company produced enduro motorcycles with four-stroke and two-stroke engines with volumes from 125 to 650 cubic meters. cm.
One of the testers was the future world champion Joel Smets.
In 1995, the brand was acquired by the Austrian company KTM Sportmotorcycle.
In 2014, after the acquisition of the Kus brand of Husqvarna Motorcycles, the lesser-known brand Husaberg was no longer produced. Currently, some of the technologies developed for Husaberg are used in Husqvarna motorcycles.
